Bringing Websites Back

Websites were largely replaced by social media and other platforms. When this happened, we lost control over our messaging, audience, data, and more. I built this website this week, and it felt good.

In contrast with social media, websites remain decentralized and let us maintain control over everything. I may not be tapped into a huge global network right away like I would be on a social media platform, but every fan I get is mine. The data is mine. The messaging is mine. The content is mine. The design is mine. Control is mine. I pay no cuts nor fees to any 3rd parties. There are no Russian hackers manipulating my audience. There are no ads unless I want them (and I don’t).

I like it.
