Everyone must lead with their own style. However, know that freaked out leaders do not inspire confidence. As The Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy reminds us, don’t panic.
As we define our leadership style, we must ask whether we’re visible. What are we known for? This could mean visibility within an organization, within your tribe, or simply in the public sphere. Ideally, we’re known for the problem we’re fixing or solving. For example, Al Gore is known for climate change. This becomes part of our brand. Our brand, what we’re known for, and our leadership style must all be in alignment in order to have the most influence and impact.
